CLIMATE The South East Trades between May and September bring steady south east winds, cooler temperatures and lower humidity and rainfall. In contrast, the North West Trades between November and March bring irregular winds, tropical rainfall and higher humidity. The transition periods between March - April and October - November are fairly hot with little wind and calm seas. Unlike its Indian Ocean neighbours to the south, the Seychelles is outside the cyclone belt.
WHEN
TO GO The sea is warm and pleasant to swim in all year round. The only real effect the seasons have is on which side of the island snorkelling is better; the calm water on the leeward side offers still, clear water with some marvellous swimming and snorkelling, but bear in mind that December, January and early February can be wet. Nevertheless all activities are available all year round. |
